Dr. Steve R. Parker

Dr. Steve R. Parker is a retired Associate Dean for Diversity, Advising, and Student Success and Associate Professor Kinesiology/Sport Leadership and Teacher Education at the University of Kentucky. Dr. Parker received his Bachelor of Art Degree in Physical Education & Health and an Area of Concentration in Psychology from the University of Kentucky, a Master's in Sports Administration from Eastern Kentucky University, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Policy Studies and Evaluation from the University of Kentucky.

A Paris, Kentucky native, Dr. Parker was a high school All American at Paris High School and continued his football career at the University of Kentucky in Lexington. Also, Dr. Parker is a Kentucky High School Athletic Association and Paris High School Football Hall of Famer.

Dr. Parker was an educator for 44 years, not only as a professor but also as a high school health and physical education teacher, head football coach, strength coach, and athletics director at Bryan Station High School. Dr. Parker officiated high school varsity basketball. After moving into higher education, he was an instructor in the National Cheerleader of the Year Coaches Conference for 22 years, during which time he served as Chair of the National Cheerleader of the Year Selection Committee. He was the Director of the Sport Leadership Master's Program and taught Issues and Problems in Sport Management (Sport Law) and Event Management.

Dr. Parker is a former Chair of the Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame Board and a former member of the Advisory Committee for The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of the Bluegrass. He was also a member of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Board of Control.
