John Smoot
John has a Bachelor of Science degree from Liberty University. He is a retired police officer and crash reconstructionist who currently works for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration as a State Programs Specialist and also served as a bi-vocational youth pastor for over 20 years. John lives in Lexington KY with his wife, a son and a daughter.
John has officiated football at one level or another for 42 years and is currently on the staff of the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) as a replay official after coming off the field where he was a Line Judge and position chief. John also works as a replay official in the OVC while supervising, hiring, training and evaluating football officials for the Mid-South conference (MSC). John is in his 18th year as a staff member in the Ohio Valley Conference.
Additionally, John worked in-door football for approximately 7 years and continues to assist with his high school association, the Central Kentucky Football Officials Association (CKFOA) in Kentucky as time allows.
